Nick qualified in 1987 as a Chartered Building Surveyor whilst working at the British Rail Property Board, carrying out a wide variety of building surveying services. Once qualified, Nick moved into private practice with WG Edwards and Partners in 1987, where he was involved in both residential and commercial surveying activities.
In 1992 Nick moved to Ashdown Lyons, where he concentrated on residential property, mainly carrying out residential survey and valuation work in London and the South East. Nick was Managing Surveyor at the Wimbledon office and Associate Director when Ashdown Lyons sadly went into administration in February 2009 as a result of the collapse in the residential housing market.
Nick then seized the opportunity of joining his colleague, Matthew Smith to form Ward James Associates Limited.
